The purpose of this website is to communicate the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, the good news of the amazing grace of God is not really good news without a revelation of the cross. The cross alone reveals the mercy and grace of God in that it reveals the sinfulness of man. Understanding the substitutionary atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross for our sins, always preceeds a revelation of God's amazing grace. The purpose of this ministry is thus "Making God's Grace Amazing", by communicating the message of the cross, the doctrine of God, justification and sanctification.
Christianity, particular in the Western world, is in a crisis. This crisis is not due to the progression of opposition from outside the church, but the progression of an imposter within the church, namely false teaching. Excedingly, the Gospel is being presented as a means to life-enhancement, advocating a perspective in which, not sin, but low self-esteem is the "main problem". This modern Gospel has redifined core doctrines to such an extent, that many are in fact being deceived by "another gospel". This "gospel" attracts many because it releases people from the moral obligation to deal with their sins. It is a gospel advocating change without requiring repentance. It is characterised, among other things, by a theraputic, humanistic, pragmatic and man-centered approach. And it demonstrates a low view of Scripture and the authority of the Bible as God's inspired Word. Biblical concepts such as sin, the wrath of God, hell, the fear of the Lord, etc. are perceived as insulting to the human being. Accommodating non-believers in the endeavor to be "relevant" is key. The result, however, is a watered down Gospel, producing false converts.
This website is designed to inspire you, inform you and help you to understand the true biblical gospel of the Cross. If you are blessed by the contents of this site or wish to ask any questions or give comments, please feel free to send an e-mail to info@thecrossalone.com.
